Bagheria - Neighbourhoods
Old Town • Monsters and museums
Two stone monsters are already grinning at you at the large entrance gate to Villa Palagonia. But they are still harmless. You'll see...
By the way - Goethe also visited Villa Palagonia in his day. He was not particularly amused. Spoilsport!
Back then, however, there wasn't yet the beautiful pedestrian zone just around the corner - with all its bars and shops. Maybe he would have liked them:
Aspra • Fresh fish every day
A bar right by the sea. You order a cappuccino and a croissant and relax in the midday sun. It's January, so you have no problem getting a seat.
Of course, you can also chill out in the bars in summer - but now under a large parasol.
Still think it's too hot? No problem - the beach is just round the corner.
Or you hire a boat and let the wind blow around your nose.
Mongerbino • Villas by the sea
Sitting on the terrace and enjoying the sunset over the Gulf of Palermo with a glass of wine - that's what Mongerbino is all about.
During the day, you can explore the surrounding villages by bike or car. There you will find not only a lot of things to see, but also boat trips, hikes, museum visits - and the Bagheria railway station.
From here, the train takes you to the centre of Palermo in just a quarter of an hour.
Monte Catalfano • Mountains and sea
By the sea or in the mountains? Monte Catalfano offers both. From up there you have a fantastic view of the Gulf of Palermo.
In winter, it is even quieter here than it already is. Nature is green now and you won't immediately break into a sweat when hiking or cycling, despite the sun and blue skies.
We particularly recommend a guided tour by a falconer - accompanied by a bird of prey, of course.
IMPORTANT: Monte Catalfano is currently closed due to construction work.
