Yachts in a village

The train squeaks to a halt at Santa Flavia station. And off we go - always along the sea.

A good 10 minutes later you reach your destination: San Nicola l'Arena.

After a short walk through the village, you stand in its marina and are amazed: there really are more boats here than houses.

A large selection of sweet temptations awaits you in the bar.

For coffee in the marina of San Nicola l'Arena - you don't treat yourself to anything else!

The map (Google Maps) of San Nicola l'Arena offers you an overview of some things to see and photo spots.

Below you will find a list of all Sicily - All in one Place maps.

San Nicola l'Arena - Marina

Marina

Rigging rattles in the warm wind, boats chug towards the harbour exit, proud owners chill out on their large yachts. Your camera won't stop clicking.

No wonder, as the marina in the small village of San Nicola l'Arena is just as big as the one in Palermo.

The pier is half a kilometre long and at its end it feels as if you are standing in the glittering sea.

San Nicola l'Arena - Harbour bar

Harbour bar

Here you can do as the cat does - chill out under the large parasol.

The bar in the San Nicola l'Arena marina offers plenty of space for this. Also for your bike and even your car.

A bar like this would be big even in Palermo.

On weekend evenings, however, it gets really crowded even here. So it's better to chill out during the day.

San Nicola l'Arena - Station

Station

Thanks to its large marina, San Nicola l'Arena does not only have a large bar, but also a railway station. However, its exit is on the "wrong" side.

But don't worry - a short subway leads you under the railway tracks towards the marina. We have marked the entrances on our map on Google Maps.

Important: The official name of the railway station is "S. Nicola (tonnara)".
