Santa Flavia - Arriving

Arriving

Many roads lead to Santa Flavia. The train option is particularly practical:

  • It all starts when you land at Palermo Airport.
  • Once you have your luggage, go to the railway station ("Palermo Aeroporto") below the airport.
  • Here you buy a ticket with the destination station "S. Flavia-Solunto-Porticello".
  • Then get on the train to the main station ("Palermo Centrale").
  • Once there, change to the regional train to Termini Imerese. You will find details in the timetable.
  • About 20 minutes later you are at the railway station of Santa Flavia.

The Santa Flavia railway station is located in the old town. Its holiday lettings are no more than 500 metres from the station. No wonder they are so popular:

Holidays in Sicily - Santa Flavia - Old town

Old town • Good connections

A good day starts with a hearty breakfast on the terrace. So let's quickly pick up a fresh baguette from the bakery.

Oh yes, a few tomatoes wouldn't be bad either. And wasn't there more air in the toothpaste tube than anything else?

No problem - in Santa Flavia you can get almost everything just around the corner. Even a train connection . It takes you to the centre of Palermo in only 20 minutes.

Speaking of the station: the Santa Flavia Shuttle, which was introduced in 2024, also starts there. It connects the train station with the urban centres, the beaches and many sights of Santa Flavia free of charge!

So it's no wonder that the old town of Santa Flavia is home to some of the most popular holiday lettings in the area.

Holidays in Sicily - Santa Flavia - Porticello

Porticello • Harbour with beach

Let's have a quick capuccino in the harbour's bar. The captain has just boarded the boat opposite on the quay. We're about to head out to explore the coast from the sea with his boat.

The fishermen have now returned and are distributing their catch to the neighbouring shops and restaurants. Let's see what we get from it tonight.

Tomorrow we'll be travelling to Palermo by train. Santa Flavia railway station is only 1 km away after all.

Holidays in Sicily - Santa Flavia - Sant'Elia

Sant'Elia • Village with beach

Just want to chill out? Preferably with an aperitif in a pleasant atmosphere? No problem.

In Sant'Elia, we add a little more: What did you think of a bar with a sea view in a fishing village and a beach right on your doorstep? Yes, all at the same time!

Even in winter, you will meet a few hardy people swimming here. However, the beach bars don't open for them. In Sant'Elia, you can now deeply relax.

Holidays in Sicily - Santa Flavia - Capo Zafferano

Capo Zafferano • A nose in the sea

Laughing seagulls circle above you. The sea glistening in the backlight seems infinitely large. The lighthouse awaits its nightly deployment.

You are at the very tip of the spectacular Capo Zafferano with its bays and marvellous Sicilian villas.

If you have snatched a holiday letting with a bike, you can use it to go to the beach in the morning, explore the surrounding area in the afternoon and go to one of the many nearby restaurants in the evening.

Sicily in October

Santa Flavia in October

Hard to believe but true: the picture on the left was taken at the end of October - in the bay of Sant'Elia

It almost iconically sums up October in Sicily: The water is still warm, but the mass tourism of the summer months is over.

Of course, the small village beaches of Santa Flavia, i.e. the one in the Porticello district and the one in Sant'Elia, benefit from this in particular.

Sicily in winter

Santa Flavia in winter

Would you like to experience Sicilian fishing villages as they really are? Completely off the beaten track? Then come to Santa Flavia in winter. In the harbour, you will actually only meet fishermen now.

And the old town of Santa Flavia is perfect for even spending the whole winter in Sicily. There are holiday lettings here that are no more than 500 metres from the train station and can be used as a home office.

Do you need to visit customers in the north from time to time? No problem, the train will take you almost directly from your flat to Palermo airport.

Holiday lettings

In the individual districts of Santa Flavia there are holiday lettings to suit every taste:

The holiday lettings in the old town offer an additional benefit: They are located no more than 500 metres from the train station and are therefore connected to a modern train network that stretches from Palermo airport to Cefalù. Please see this train map for details.

Casa Enza stands out in particular. This tiny penthouse is not only large and bright, but it is also connected to the fast fibre optic internet in Santa Flavia.

Casa Enza is perfect for 2 guests and offers plenty of light and sun even in Winter:
