Your hire bike is a pedelec: Its electric motor makes pedalling easier, but is NOT designed to go fast. The assistance provided by the electric motor therefore decreases as the speed increases. It is zero from 25 km/h.

This ad-free video shows how you can set five assistance levels using the on-board computer.

We recommend the "ECO" assistance level for normal riding and when starting off. It allows you to ride easily and relaxed and maximises the range of your rental bike.

Please use the higher assistance levels on inclines and headwinds. The higher the assistance level, the shorter the range of your rental bike.

Safety instructions:

• Only start off in low gears. This gives you maximum acceleration AND control over your rental bike. Both are very helpful to "coast along" with ease in Sicilian traffic.
• At the same time, please avoid high assistance levels when starting off. Otherwise, you run the risk of leaping forward and losing control of your hire bike.
