The Sicilian municipality of Bagheria consists of the fishing village of Aspra, the Monte Catalfano nature reserve and an old town with monsters - and is free of mass tourism even in summer.
In winter, therefore, there are particularly few tourists in Bagheria. The beautiful beach promenade of Aspra, the colourful fishing boats, the museum, the bars and pizzerias.
In winter Monte Catalfano is green, full of flowers and almost deserted. The blue of the sky is particularly intense now and the temperatures are perfect for hiking with amazing views across the bay of Palermo.
You have the 'Villa of Monsters' and other museums in the old town almost to yourself in winter. This is the perfect way to really get to know Sicily - and thus an opportunity for anyone thinking of living in Sicily.
